How to Find the URL for an Article from a Database
Make sure you copy the correct URL! Always look for a link labeled something along the lines of "permalink", "permanent link", "persistent link", "record URL", "bookmark", etc. Only copy the URL from the address bar if no other link is given. See screenshots below for instructions for each database.
For the "ILC SEARCH" box, use the PERMALINK URL.
For EBSCO databases, use the PERMALINK URL.
For all of the GALE databases, click on "GET LINK" to get the URL.
It will open up a new window with the URL that looks like this.
Click on "Actions" and select "Link to this page"
This will open up a new window with a URL that looks like this:
Use the URL in the address bar for Statista.
For Credo / Reference Source, click on the "SHARE" icon.
It will open a new page with a URL that looks like this.
Use the URL in the address bar for ALL ABC-Clio databases.
Use the URL titled "Document URL" found at the very bottom of the page.
Use the URL titled "Record URL" found at the very bottom of the page.
Use the link in the address bar for SIRS Issues Researcher.
Use the link provided under "All Options"
Use the URL in the address bar for Salem.
TEACHERS: To post a LINK to Canvas or Google Classroom, make sure you find the correct URL, as shown in the screenshots above. You cannot always copy the URL from the address bar at the top of the page! Email tgorman or jlopez with questions!
